Basic definitions first. What is affiliate marketing? What affiliate marketing basically is, is you promote on the internet; you promote someone else's product, and every time someone buys that product through your promotion efforts, you get paid a percentage. That's what affiliate marketing is on the most basic level. People love it because they don't do any fulfillment, they don't have to do any customer service, they don't have to do any banking or any Merchant accounts or anything complicated like that. All they do is just promote another product that's owned by somebody else and they get paid. And that's why people love affiliate marketing.
Instead, what I recommend for beginners is actually an affiliate program that I've personally used quite a lot, and that is ClickBank. Now the nice thing about ClickBank is it's been around for a very very long time. It was one of the first affiliate programs that ever existed, and I actually used it way back in the early 20,000s when it first started and made some good money off of it. And you can still make money with ClickBank today. And the nice thing about ClickBank is that ClickBank sells primarily digital products, so downloadable products. That means that everything that you're selling pretty much can be downloaded through the internet. So that means the commissions are going to be a lot higher; you're going to be able to make sometimes 50% of a sale, that's like a few hundred. So just by getting someone to click through your link one time, you could make $200 just from one click, your link. So that's why I love ClickBank because you get paid a lot more for your efforts especially as a beginner.
I'm going to show you how to sign up for ClickBank because there's some tricks here. First of all, if you click Start here, it's going to lead you through a huge questionnaire. You're going to go through all kinds of questions, but what you want to do instead is you want to click log in right here. And then over down here, you're going to click create an account. All right, and I'm just going to fill in my information really quick. I'm going to pause it and then start it all right so I filled it out and then um I just put a junk mail email in there for now but you want to put your real email in um I'm just doing that for the sake of the video so I don't get emailed by everybody that watches this video um then we're going to click continue to terms and conditions just by clicking follow right here and then you're going to sign in. So I entered my info there I'm going to click log in and I'm going to pass all these upsells here just for the sake of this video I'm going to download the suppression list. What I would encourage you to do is pick a product that you know something about, and maybe that your friend group knows something about, maybe you're into a certain thing you have a group of friends that have certain Hobbies pick a category like that because then if you start you can start promoting on your Facebook page and if you have Facebook or if you have Twitter if you have social media if you have email you have friends even in just a footer of your email every email that you send out to anyone you could put it in the bottom um and that can get you started but it helps if it's something where the people that you know are interested in that topic.
So you can go through and just pick anything I mean if we go to Home and Garden see all the different products now there are a couple things about this that you need to know now if you look this lets you sort the results by all kinds of different metrics you can see here you can sort them by rank which is sort of just uh clickbank's own ranking of how popular the product is and How likely it is to sell you can also do average dollar per conversion so um high to low which means how much money you can make per sale, and if you look just in this home and garden category we have a product here that you can make $200 per sale that's huge all right look at this one $13 dog training Secrets course are you do you have a group of friends that are all into dogs and training your dogs $113 for a sale look at this $70 Furniture craft plans so again you can see how these are very niched out products so that's why it's important that you pick a product that you're personally interested in or you have a friend group that's interested in because the way you're going to get started is by just promoting this through maybe emailing your friends or putting it on your Facebook putting it on your Twitter or or whatever social Med media you have making a little video for your Tik Tok account whatever it is and you're going to put the link that ClickBank gives you in there and when people click on it then you can make the money but you can see here you can have the potential to make a lot of money now once you pick a product that you're interested in promoting all you do is click on this promote Tab and it's going to lead you to create a nickname account and that basically just means your own unique little code so once you click I'm not going to go through the whole process right here the whole process of creating a nickname account but once you click on that blue button ClickBank is going to give you a little link it'll be like clickbank.com something and you make sure you get that link exactly right copy and paste that link into your text...
