Major Updates on Tick Tock

Guys, this is not a drill. When I say Tick Tock is changing, I am not exaggerating. Guys, Tick Tock is changing. They have released some major updates recently which have they have me a bit shook. I'm not gonna lie to you. I didn't even plan to film this video like this isn't even part of my content plan, but once I read about these updates, I was like, I've got to fit it in. I've got to make it happen. So if you want to know about the changes coming to Tick Tock, then carry on watching. This video is for you.

Introduction to Tick Tock Updates

Before we dive in, I upload content like this every single week, so be sure to subscribe if you want to see more from me. But also, I have a bunch of freebies in my description that I feel like you will absolutely love, all designed to help you grow online and to multiply your streams of income.

Tick Tock Photo Mode Update

Alright, let's get to the updates. Okay, I'm just gonna rip the Band-Aid off and just get started with the biggest change that's coming to Tick Tock. And I've got one word for you guys: photos are coming to Tick Tock. Now, when I read about this update, I was actually half-asleep reading some articles about social media before bed, which is never a good idea because then I end up dreaming about social media. But anyway, I woke up, I looked at my note that I wrote down, and I thought I dreamed it. I was like, no, why would photos be on Tick Tock? I had to Google it again, and I was like, oh my God, no, that's a legitimate thing: photos are coming to Tick Tock. Now, this update is being called photo mode, and what it essentially involves is an automated carousel. It's like a bit of a slideshow, so think about your Instagram carousels. That's essentially coming to Tick Tock but with a bit of a twist. So, you'll be able to upload a selection of photos as a carousel, but they will swipe and play automatically, and you'll be able to add your own music to it. So, it's almost like a moving image slideshow version of your standard Instagram carousels, and I guess Tick Tock included those additional things to differentiate themselves from your Instagram carousels, but also to bring more of a Tick Tock vibe to it because, now, there's movement, there's music, you know. So, it's not quite a video, but we're getting there. It's a little bit more similar. I don't know, that's my theory as to why they've decided to do that.

Tick Tock's Shift to a Search Engine

Here is a screenshot of what photo mode will look like. If you already have access to this update, can you let me know in the comments because I want to hear your thoughts on it? But for now, I'm going to share my thoughts on it. First of all, I'm a bit confused by it. I think when I start to use it and I actually start to see how other people are using it, maybe it will be less confusing to me. But at the moment, I'm a bit like, why now? Some people are suggesting that the update is like a middle finger to Instagram so Tick Tock were feeling petty, and they're like, what can we do to annoy them? And they decided that that update was the way to go. But as much as I love the idea of social media companies being that petty, I highly doubt that was the main reason for them to update their platform in such a major way. I'm assuming that maybe this is a nod towards the Instagram photo dump trend that has been on the rise recently within the past year, and maybe this is their way of adapting that trend to their platform. I'm not quite sure. What this does tell me, though, is that Tick Tock is not scared of changing their platform, and I think that's probably the most interesting thing about this update: they are not afraid of change, they're not scared of adding these wild features which disrupt their platform quite a bit...

Increased Character Limit Update

So, the reason why I have mixed feelings about this is because I totally get why they're doing it, but one of the things that I loved about Tick Tock was that the captions were short. The captions are short, the comments are short, there's a character limit on your comments as well. I love the fact that Tick Tock does not want you to write a lot of text because I don't like writing. So, it's one of my favorite things about Tick Tock. It's like, oh, I don't need to worry about writing, I just need to create more content. And I'm better at that kind of stuff. So, if you can relate because I know a lot of other creators feel the same way, then you're probably having the same reaction to this news that I am, where you're a bit like, I really don't want to start writing long captions...
